After several years studying the Chinese language, my interest in the culture naturally led me to explore other forms of expression. That curiosity is what brought me to Chinese calligraphy.
Over time and though years of practice, calligraphy gradually evolved into painting. Though this process, I've learned much more that technique. I've learned patience, especially the value of waiting and allowing the ink to dry. I've learned to observe more carefully, not only what is painted, but also the empty spaces that are left untouched.
These practices have shaped the way I see both life and art, teaching me to slow down and pay attention. Without a doubt, this has been one of the most meaningful discoveries of my adulthood.
